Levernois is a town in the Haute-Saône department in the region of Franche-Comté in eastern France. The town is located on the banks of the Ognon River, about 30 km (19 mi) south of Besançon. As of 2016, the population of Levernois was 1,374.
The town's history dates back to the Roman era when it was known as Lévroux. In the Middle Ages, it was a possession of the powerful dukes of Burgundy. It later became part of the Habsburg Empire, and then France.
Levernois is home to several historical sites, including the 12th-century Notre Dame de Levernois Church and the 16th-century Château de Levernois. The town is also home to a museum dedicated to the history of the region.
